Rita Angela Hale Marsh

CULLMAN — Rita Angela Hale Marsh

A memorial service for Rita Angela Hale Marsh, 51, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Hamby's Chapel United Methodist Church on Eva Road in Vinemont, Pastors Henry Prater and Tim Kinney officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Rita went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She began her journey as Rita Hale on June 18, 1961, the beloved daughter of Gerald and Gwyn Hale. Rita was a 1979 graduate of Butler High School in Huntsville, Ala., where she excelled in everything she touched. She participated in the Mexican Student Exchange Program and loved her accapella choir. She attended Calhoun College and earned her master’s degree in cosmetology in Huntsville. She owned and operated two salons in the Eva area. After giving birth to her two precious daughters, Rita met and married the man whom God chose for her, Ken Marsh — her rock and love of her life. They married Feb. 13, 1997. She became “Mamma Ree” with the births of her grandchildren.

Rita enriched weddings, funerals, and special occasions with her angelic voice.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marion Gerald Hale; her beloved grandparents, Hugh and Leldon Edmondson (Papa and Mamma Ed); and uncles, Lamond Edmondson and Decherd Edmondson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Ken Marsh; daughters, Taylor (Jeremy) Cone and Tiffany Tubbs; mother and stepfather, Gwyn and Jerry Bredeson; grandchildren, Aden, Carter and Heidi Cone, Chloe, Sammy, Jamie and Brooklyn Marsh; stepchildren, Justin (Tammy) Marsh, Heath (Tanya) Marsh and Hannah Marsh; a brother, Reggie Wade Hale;  mother-in-law, Dorothy Nell Marsh; sister-in-law, Terrie Marsh; brother-in-law, Hal Marsh; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and too many friends to count as everyone was a friend to her.
