Funeral services for Bessie Mae Cosper Scott, 80, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church,   Revs. John Richter, Steve Wood and Larry Duke officiating with interment in the Scott Private Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the church from 10-11 a.m.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Scott passed away Friday, January 18,  2013 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born February 21, 1932 to parents, Thomas Jefferson and Nellie Mae Cosper.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her heart. She was an active member of St. John’s Church, The Women’s Guild and the Civitan International. She was a homemaker and a poultry farmer and also loved to sew and work in her flower garden. She also enjoyed participating in the Brickyard Home Extension Club. She loved to play the piano and to sing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters, Howard Cosper, Gilbert Cosper, Helen Brock, Fern Bates, Edward Priest, Deanie Screws and I.C. Priest.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, George M. Scott; son, Ronnie (Pam) Scott; daughters, Pattie (Rex) Motes and Sherry Scott Smith; grandsons, Jonathan (Monica) Smith, Alan (Chanda) Scott, Josh (Chasity) Bates and Scott (Heather) Motes; granddaughters, Ashlee (Bryan) O’Neil, Kellie (Brad) Hyatt, and Amanda (Blake) Garner; great-grandchildren, Natalie Scott, Aubrey Scott, Marshall Hyatt, Mason Bates, Carson Smith, Charlie O’Neil, Kenzie O’Neil, Maggie O’Neil and Dax O’Neil; brothers, her twin brother, Jessie (Margie) Cosper and Herschel (Odessa) Cosper; a sister, Katherine (Gerald) Tucker.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jonathan Smith, Alan Scott, Josh Bates, Scott Motes, Bryan O’Neil, Brad Hyatt and Blake Garner.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the funeral home from 5:30 – 9 p.m.
