CULLMAN —
Funeral services for Garlon Calvert, 85, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.
Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Calvert died Tuesday, Jan. 1. He was a member of Fultondale Church of Christ. He was employed with U.S. Steel for 45 years, and loved cattle farming for many years. He was a beloved father, husband and grandfather. He always had a smile and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Colene Calvert.
Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis (Jimmy) Falls, his son, David (Kathleen) Calvert; grandchildren, Brandon (Kelly) Falls, Asheley Falls, Shannon (Patrick) Williamon, Jay (Lauren) Falls, Quinnlan, Piersso and Soren Calvert; and great-grandchildren, Laden, Jake, Kate and Cooper Falls, and Charlie and Bennett Williamon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
