Wynell Rice McLeroy

CULLMAN — Funeral services for Wynell Rice McLeroy, 87, of Good Hope will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Gene Persall officiating. She will be laid to rest in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McLeroy passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 4, 1925, in Hanceville to David Lawrence and Janie Mitchell Rice. She was united in marriage to Rex McLeroy on Aug. 14, 1946. She was a faithful member of the Fourth Street Church of Christ. She diligently worked beside her loving husband on their pumpkin farm and enjoyed her family. Her enjoyment was taking care of her family and doing for others. She was a very special, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rex; her parents; two brothers, Delmar (Laura Ann) Rice and Jack (Kathleen) Rice; an infant sister; and her loving little dog, Tiny.

Survivors include a son, David (Betsy) McLeroy; two daughters, Martha McLeroy and Delitha (Ricky) Gaither; six grandchildren, Mundi McCormick, Trae (Kristie) Noblett, Amy (Shannon) Bolte, Ashley (Jason) Kent, Scott Gaither and Amber (Seth) Cordes; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler (Taylor) McCormick, Kate and Jesse Kent, LaShonna Gaither, Olivia Noblett, Blake and Carter Cordes and Sara Bolte; three nieces, Susan (Carl) Hathorne, Mary (Rusty) Carter and Freda (Avery) Dooley; special friends and caregivers, Regina Edwards, Barbara Davidson and Gail Hill Jones; and a host of cousins, church family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Carl Hathorne, Nolan Dooley, James Tackett, Donnie Rice, Waymon Montgomery and Conard Rice. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Gaither, Ricky Gaither, Tyler McCormick, Blake Cordes, Carter Cordes, Trae Noblett, Shannon Bolte, Jason Kent and Seth Cordes.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
