Funeral services for Athree "Marie" Mae Reid, 82, of Hanceville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Paul Campbell officiating, with burial in Missionary Grove Cemetery.

Ms. Reid passed away Saturday, April 12, at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born August 15, 1931, in Cullman to John and Mary Walker Dooley. She loved the Lord, life and her family. She worked several jobs ranging from factory work, to sewing, then farming. Throughout her life she did whatever it took to raise and support her family. She was an amazing cook who thoroughly enjoyed feeding those she loved. Her dumplings, banana pudding, and tea cakes top the long list of dishes that will be missed. She was a woman who lived a simple life and her priorities were in order. Her unrelenting faith and loving spirit will live on forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Stanley; an infant son, Marshel Watwood; and a grandson, Grady Shawn White.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Watwood (Mike) Walters; a son, Mikeal Lewayne (Sandy) Watwood; son-in-law, Mickey Stanley; five grandchildren, Chad (Darinda) White, Josh White, Chris (Tammie) Stanley, Ty (Elizabeth) Watwood and Kendra (Scott) Harper; 11 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Shannon and Lyndsey White, Shelby and Katie White, Ashley and Grady White, Lance and Sadie Stanley, Madeline Watwood and Ameya Harper; and three great-great-grandchildren, Aiden White, Lacy White and Lilly White.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Carlton Eugene Stafford
Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
Susan Melissa Neck Werner
Susan Werner died Monday, July 21, 2014, as a result of an apparent fall at her home in Gainesville, Florida. Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and, after graduation from FSU, spent many years in Cullman, where she taught elementary school and received a master’s degree from UAB. While in Cullman, she married Robert Werner and helped run a family retail business.
