Kenneth Murphree

HOLLY POND — Kenneth Murphree

Funeral services for Kenneth Murphree, 71, of Oneonta, formerly of Holly Pond, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Dink Lambert officiating, with interment in Union Grove Cemetery.

Holly Pond Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Murphree died Friday, April 19, at Golden Living Nursing Home. He was born in Cullman County to Oncie and Dessie Lambert Murphree. He was a member of Ashville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bobby Ray Murphree and Leonard Murphree.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy (Hilton) McElvey; a stepdaughter, Robin (Hoyt) Patterson; three brothers, Therman (Jean) Murphree, Rayburn (Dean) Murphree and Douglas (Janice) Murphree; three sisters, Delbie Bright, Glenda Bates and Elaine Simpson; four grandchildren, Jessica McElvey, Andrew McElvey, Aubrey McElvey and Whitney Patterson; and his former spouses, Barbara Ponder (mother of Sandy McElvey) and Ethelene Murphree (mother of Robin Patterson).

Pallbearers will be Bobby Kusz, Jason Simpson, Larry Brewer, James Murphree, Steve Murphree and Chris Murphree.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
