CULLMAN — Vester Ray ‘Hacksaw’ Hankins

Funeral services for Vester Ray “Hacksaw” Hankins, 74, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Simcoe Worship Center, Tim Dubberly and Heath Tinker officiating, with interment in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hankins died Monday, July 9, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 9, 1938 in Morgan County. He was a pipefitter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hankins.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Hankins; two sons, Mark (Kera) Hankins and Jason (Stephanie) Hankins; three daughters, Tina (Randall) Jones, Kathy (Rickey) Overton and Angie (Mike) Guthrie; two brothers, Murphy Hankins and Johnny Hankins; two sisters, Bessie Breeding and Shirley Atkins; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
