CULLMAN — Nettie Marie Elliott

Funeral services for Nettie Marie Elliott, 107, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Shelton Grove Baptist Church, Ray Ponder officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Elliott passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab. She was recently inducted as the oldest living member of DAR. She was a member of Shelton Grove Baptist Church since it was organized and loved her church. She attributed her longevity to her faith in the Lord. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a very compassionate person who would do anyting to help another person.

She was preceded in death by her parents, F.O. and Lizzie Cook Edwards; her husband, John Elliott; her son, Howard Elliott; a grandson, Steven Cruce; a great-granddaughter, Crystal Elliott; and six brothers, Andy, Monroe, Claude, Pick, Kerby and Audy Edwards.

Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Marie (Fred) Cruce; five grandchildren, Lisa Marie Cruce Clinton, Matthew Robert Cruce, Bill Elliott, Diane Tanner and Loretta Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Willodean Elliott; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
