Mae Clarine Harris
Funeral services for Mae Clarine Harris, 87, of Hanceville will be Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Tim Harris officiating with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham at 2 p.m.
Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harris died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab. She was born November 4, 1924 to Roscoe D. and Beulah Wiley Wilhite. She loved her family, church and her Lord. She was always looking for ways to help others. She served at a Cub Scout den mother and she was mother to the whole block of Monroe Avenue kids. She was a nurse at the hospital and Bus Captain, Acteen Director and hostess for many bridal teas and baby showers. She was also in the choir at Woodland Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Azell L. Harris; five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Wayne, Tim (Cathy), Danny (Pam) and Dudley (Martha) Harris; a daughter, Kaytrene (Gary) Duckworth; a brother, John D. (Dorothy) Wilhite; a stepbrother, Lloyd Harris; a stepsister, Martha Starnes; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Gideons. Donation envelopes will available at the funeral home.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
