CULLMAN — Olen Dover

Funeral services for Olen Dover, 67, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Ed Flaig officiating.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Olen Dover passed from his earthly body to Heaven Sunday, Oct. 28, at Brookwood Medical Center. He was born Sept. 29, 1945, in Cullman, the son of Robert and Celli Freeman Dover. Olen owned Seafood World Restaurant in Hanceville from 1987 to 2008 until he retired. He owned a trucking business in Birmingham until he moved to Hanceville with his wife in 1978. He always had a compassion to listen to people. Olen worked with people to help them in any way to better their lives. He loved to work on the farm, garden and help his neighbor no matter where he lived. Olen was a true friend to many people and he will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Celli; his stepmother, Jewell Dover; two brothers, Brentice and Jerry Dover; two sisters, Patsy Watwood and Bonnie Johnson; two nieces, Patricia Watwood and Sheila Johnson; and two nephews, Larry Dover,Gary Watwood and Donnie Bryant.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Dover; three sisters, Reba Bridgemon, Louise Hailes and Myra Hyatt; one brother, Hobart Dover; a stepsister, Faye Bullard; a stepbrother, Bobby MacAfee; nieces and nephews, Billy Watwood, Nancy Baker, Wayne Watwood, Tim Watwood, Lynn Watwood, Allen Watwood, Vanessa Nichols, Bonnetta Baugham, Harvey Creel, Denise Sturgeon, Jonathan Creel, Horace Dover, Craig Dover, Patrick Dover, Donna Dover, Greg Dover, Keith Dover, Deborah Drinkard, David Dover, Bobby Bridgemon, Danny Hailes, Rhonda Horton, Brandon Hyatt, Aaron Hyatt, Marcus Hyatt, Tracy Dover, Bill Hardeman, Tina Hardeman, Donna Sullins, Matthew Bryant, Mark Bryant, David Bryant Jr., Megan Bryant, Luke Bryant, Paul Bryant Jr. and Stefani Shadowens; and a host of great nieces and nephews and former employees from Seafood World as he cared about as his own children.  

 In lieu of flowers, please help someone in need and let them know it is in memory of Olen Dover.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
