CULLMAN — Barbara Ann Hill

Funeral services for Barbara Ann Hill, 77, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Billy Gable officiating, with burial in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Hill died Monday, May 12. She was born April 22, 1937, in Morgan County to Felix Melvin Armstrong and Mary Lavern Hogan Armstrong. She was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church, a homemaker and was a very loving mother, and granny, who had "Mother's Day" every day.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Leon Hill; and a sister, Peggy Staples.

Survivors include one son, Phillip Hill (Ronda), Moulton; one daughter, Vickie Shadden (Steve), Danville; one sister, Judy Schultz (Benes), Falkville; a sister-in-law, Martha Thomas; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Staples of Cullman and Bob Austin of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Leslie Childers, Hannah Roberts, (Timothy), Wesley Crunk, (Lacy) and Stephanie Morgan, (Damon); five great-grandchildren, Dirk Childers, Gavin Crunk, Tristan Archer, Ailicia Morgan and Isabella Morgan.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Roberts, Keith McCaghren, Richard Shadden, Hilton Kelley, Steve Powell and Joe Vincent.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family extends a special “thank you” to Dr. P.J. Reddy for many years of wonderful care and to all the caregivers and Alacare Hospice.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.

    Susan Werner died Monday, July 21, 2014, as a result of an apparent fall at her home in Gainesville, Florida. Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and, after graduation from FSU, spent many years in Cullman, where she taught elementary school and received a master’s degree from UAB. While in Cullman, she married Robert Werner and helped run a family retail business.
