CULLMAN — Mamie Deerr Nixon
Funeral services for Mamie Deerr Nixon, 86, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, the Rev. Warren Rueland officiating, with interment in Cullman City Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Nixon died Thursday, Nov. 19, at her residence. She was born April 4, 1923, in Cullman County to Clifford and Bessie Nix Deerr. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Cullman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. W.L. Nixon; and a son, Clifford “Buddy” Nixon.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Karen) Nixon and David (Nancy) Nixon; a daughter, Joy (Rayburn) Flynn; grandchildren, Angela (Mike) Stansberry, Jason (Kim) Flynn, Emily (Shane) Cook, Eric (Lindsey) Nixon; Kari Nixon Walker, Zak (Gina) Nixon and Byron (Angela) Nixon; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Shelby Walker, Tatum and Jackson Nixon, Lynsey Stansberry, Ashton Stansberry, Kallie and Janie Flynn, Savannah, Ava and Elaina Cook, Case and Lilly Claire Nixon; stepgreat-grandchildren, Madison, Breeana, Maison and Gage Goodwin; and her sweet girl, Brandy; and friend, Lois Fowler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Omega Hospice.
