Omri Edward Holmes
Funeral services for Omri Edward Holmes, 85, of Eva will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church, Elders J.L. Hopper, Heath Williams and David Guttery officiating, with interment in Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Eva.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holmes passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, at his residence. He was born May 5, 1927, in Morgan County to Arthur Herbert and Annice Adaline Hyatt Holmes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, mother of his children, Mildred Clairine Moore Holmes and Hazel Harris Holmes; two brothers, Ovis and Royal Holmes; a sister, Una Mae Holmes Ford; a grandson, Kevin Shawn Ozbolt; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Holmes.
Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Lynn (Doug) Holcomb, Rita (Dan) McCain and Melissa Denise (Kevin) Ozbolt; three sons, Dewayne (Sandra) Holmes, Roland (Lorraine) Holmes and Barry (Carol) Holmes; three sisters, Verna Holcomb, Glenda (J.L.) Hopper and Dean Thompson; a brother, Arvid (Wilda) Holmes; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Holmes, Gerald Holmes, Jerry Holmes, Dan Hopper, Mark Holmes and James Holmes.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church.
