CULLMAN — Claudia Bassett Golden

Funeral services for Claudia Bassett Golden, 95, of Cullman, formerly of Clay County, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland, the Rev. Kenneth Fuller officiating, with burial in Clay County Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Golden passed away Monday, March 24, at the home of her daughter. She was a Randolph County native, a former resident of Lee and Talladega counties and had settled in Clay County in 1947. She moved to Cullman in 1998. She was a retired homemaker and had worked for Higgins Manufacturing for over 17 years as a seamstress and quality control inspector and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Lineville. Since moving to Cullman, she had attended West Point Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Washington Bassett and Donia Maria McCain Bassett; her husband, Robert Lynwood Golden Sr.; an infant son, James Troy Golden; three sisters; and one brother.

Mrs. Golden is survived by a daughter, Dianne (Scott) Hendon of Cullman; a son, Robert L. (Elaine) Golden Jr. of Coosada; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
