CULLMAN — Charlotte Dean Jacobs

Funeral services for Charlotte Dean Jacobs, 83, of Cullman will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Cullman, the Rev. Edwin Hayes officiating, with interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jacobs passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Westminster Assisted Living. She was born July 19, 1930, in Cullman County to John Herman and Vittie Ledbetter Vest. She married Woodrow Jacobs in 1948 and worked in their accounting business, Jacobs Accounting, until 1995. Mrs. Jacobs also served as county clerk/administrator for the Cullman County Commission from 1984 until she retired in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years; her parents; two daughters, Dr. Pamela Jacobs Keller and Dr. Charlotte Diane Jacobs; brothers, Rubin W. and Billy Ray Vest; sisters, Willie Maude Cagle, Alma R. Entrekin, Edna Bice, Freda Bice and Nellie “Nell” Baker.

Survivors include sons, John K. Jacobs and Woody (Connie) Jacobs, both of Cullman; daughters, Debra (Dwight) Holcombe and Joyce Jacobs Echols, both of Cullman; son-in-law, David Keller of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Dr. Valarie Horsley (Dr. Matthew Rodeheffer) and Shelley Horsley (Bryan Riddle), Karla Holcombe (Bradley) Hodges, Jason (Michelle) Echols, Tiffany (Joshua) Cantrell, Clair Jacobs Johnson, Abigail Jacobs, Tyler Jacobs and Hannah Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Riddle, Andrew Riddle, David Riddle, Avery Rodeheffer, Evelyn Dean Rodeheffer, Emma Jo Hodges, Skylar Echols, Mylee Echols, Chelsey Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Olivia Cluxton and Madelyn Cluxton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Cullman or United Way.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
