CULLMAN — Evelyn B. Galin Linton

Evelyn B. Galin Linton, beloved wife of Clarence L. Linton, departed this life peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2013, after a short illness. She enjoyed 88 wonderful years of living.

She was born on July 14, 1924 in Wedowee, Alabama.

She resided in Cullman most of her life. She was a member of Crosses Chapel United Methodist Church. She was employed for many years at King Edward Cigar Plant and several retail sales locations. Her hobbies were the loving care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, quilting and sewing.

Evelyn was preceded in rest by her parents, Bessie French McManus and Chester McManus; her first husband and father of her children, Herman W. Galin; and a son, Frederick C. Galin.

Her loving family consists of her husband, Clarence L. Linton; son, Jerry D. Galin (friend Brenda) of Hanceville; daughter, Diann Galin Richter (Jack) of Poquoson, Va.; daughter-in-law, Jeanice Galin; grandchildren, F. Shawn Galin of Vestavia Hills, Jennifer L. Meekins (Mike) of Manteo, N.C., and Tammi E. Bramblett (Kyle) of Cumming, Ga.; stepgrandchildren, Michael Nelson (Lisa) of Cullman, Travis Nelson (deceased), Edward Richter of Cullman and Marina Hodge (Edwin) of Daphne; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ulmer-Meekins and Walker and Fysher Bramblett; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah and Becca Meekins, Bailee and Abby Nelson, Robert and Natalie Hodge and Kelley Richter.

Her loving family also consists of her brother, Thurman McManus (Dura Faye) of Interlachen, Fla., and sister, Patricia Umphrey (Ulen deceased) of Cullman; nephews, Hugh Fredrick Johnson (deceased), Lonnie Johnson (deceased), Doyle Galin, Ronnie McManus (Denise), Dwight McManus (deceased), Calvin Umphrey (deceased) and James Umphrey (Conniejo); nieces, Amanda Williamson (Alton), Barbara James (Charles), Cynthia McManus (deceased), Rebecca Merry (deceased) and Jolanda Hutson (Darryl); grandnephews, Michael Merry (Marybell), Gavin and Colby Hutson; grandnieces, Andy McManus and Cindy Day (Randy); and stepgrandnieces Ciara Bringardner (J.T.) and Sable McFatter.

The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. Saturday at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at the funeral home at 255 County Road 1435, Cullman (256-734-0208) with interment immediately following in Crosses Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends should assemble at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her family and large group of friends.
