LOGAN — Charles Rickey Kent

Funeral services for Charles Rickey Kent, 61, of Logan will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Emeus Baptist Church, Greg Aldredge officiating, with interment in Emeus Cemetery in Logan. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to services.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kent died Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1952, in Cullman to Euvel Loron and Edith Athelene Stevens Kent. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having retired after 22 years of service as a PRCM. He served in Desert Storm and the Persian Gulf. He served as deacon at various churches and last 10 years at Emeus Baptist Church. He also coached several golf teams and took West Point to state playoffs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rebecca Kent.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Dean Kent; three daughters, Laci Kent, Lori Kent and Lindsey Kent; three brothers, Euvel Kent Jr., Larry Joe (Patricia) Kent and Terry (Helen) Kent; a sister, Jan (Randy) Saint; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors Program; or the Veterans Administration.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
