Lucy ‘Isabelle’ Leonard
Graveside services for Lucy “Isabelle” Leonard will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel. A celebration of her life and visitation with friends will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral Home.
Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham (205-251-7227) is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lucy passed away Sunday, Oct. 7. She was born in Indiana, growing up in Alton, Ill. She was married to Harold Leonard for 45 years (until his death in 1991) and they had three children. She moved to Birmingham (1974) and then to Cullman (1990). She always had a smile for everyone and never met a stranger. She devoted her life to her husband and family; she loved them all — unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wainright and Flossie Tague of Alton, Ill.; her husband, Harold R. Leonard Sr. of Cullman; her brothers, Melvin and Sonny Tague of Alton, Ill.; and her sister, Vesta Swinford of Decatur, Ill.
Survivors include three children, Harold (Leslie) Leonard Jr. of Houston, Texas, Sharold (the late Tom) Wille of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Marlene (Tom) McCain of Cullman; her grandchildren, Kirk (Tammi) Wille of Oceanside, Calif., Kerri (Todd) Nelson of Atlanta, Ga., Kristi Hays of Ft. Worth, Texas, Courtney Leonard, Ryan Leonard, Stephen Mott and Roxanne Mott, all of Houston, Texas; and 13 great-grandchildren.
