Thomas William ‘Tommy’ Ege
Funeral services for Thomas William “Tommy” Ege, 85, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father John O’Donnell officiating, with interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ege died Sunday, June 14, at his residence. He was born April 20, 1924, in Cullman County to August and Christina Laux Ege. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Henry Ege, John Ege and Charlie Ege; and five sisters, Anna Ege, Josephine Ege, Hattie Ege, Catherine Ege and Marie Ege. Tommy was caregiver for all five sisters.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; close friends and caregivers, Mary Ann Tuggey, Rita Westmoreland and Melba Jo Federer; and his best friend and love, his dog, Josie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
The Ege family is very appreciative of Hospice of Cullman County.
