Violet B. Cox

Funeral services for Violet B. Cox, 85, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April, 21, 2007, at Cullman Heritage Chapel with Peter Von Herrmann officiating. Interment will follow at Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cox died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born May 12, 1921, in North Carolina to Henry and Katie Baker Enterkin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Margaret Runkle; a son-in-law, Richard Runkle, both of Portland, Ind.; three sisters, Louise Smith Carriere of Miss.; Emma Manning of Pensacola, Fla., Blanche Cecil of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and three brothers, Emorrie Enterkin of Century, Fla., Earl Enterkin of Muncie, Ind. and David Enterkin of Indianapolis, Ind.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James Cox of Eva; a daughter, Carolyn (Harmon) Eller of Eva; a son, Jim (Sue) Cox of Holly Pond; a grandaughter, Kelli Pitts of Sumerville; four grandsons, Michael (Drenda) Pitts of Hanceville, Luke Cox of Tuscaloosa, Adam Cox of Tuscaloosa and Blake Cox of Tuscaloosa; a great-granddaughter, Laken Pitts of Hanceville; two sisters-in-law, Ada Enterkin of Indianapolis and Gwen Larrance of Summitville, Ind.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
