Frances L. Burkart
Funeral Services for Frances L. Burkart, 90, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor John Jankens officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville. Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Burkart died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born on Oct. 5, 1916 in Hartselle.
Mrs. Burkart was preceded in death by her husband, Carlie Burkart; her parents, Chester E. and Lucia (Barclift) Lee; sister, Jesse Nell Howard; and brother, Chester E. Lee.
Survivors include daughter, Carolyn (Gary) Stratton of Greensboro, N.C.; sons, Charles Burkart of Dallas, Texas, Lee (Barbara) Burkart of Hoover and Eddie (Margie) Burkart of Hanceville; eight grandchildren, Carl Burkart (Samantha McCart), Katie Burkart, John Burkart, Amanda (Homer) Ferguson, Sarah Burkart, Benjamin Burkart, Lindsey Stratton, and Heater Stratton; and one great-granddaughter, Maggie Burkart.
Mrs. Burkart was the organist and choir director at Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. She also helped her husband at Hanceville Drugs for several years and was a member of D.A.R. and a charter member of the Culture Club. She enjoyed traveling and published two books about genealogy. She graduated with honors from Alabama College in Montevallo in 1938. She was also a music teacher at Hanceville School. She received the Girl Scout Gold Award, which is the highest award in Girl Scouts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 505 Commercial Street S.E. Hanceville, AL, 35077.
Charles Henry Burgess
Funeral services for Charles Henry Burgess, 58, of Falkville, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at the chapel of Moss-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Willis and Chaplin John Raley officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burgess died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at his residence. He was born on April 3, 1948 in Cullman to James Edward Burgess and Edith Wynell Tucker Burgess. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Carlton Eugene Stafford
Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
