Don Huie Nichols
Funeral services for Don Huie Nichols, 63, of Berlin will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Brad McDonald and Junior Burnham officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Nazarene Cemetery in Blountsville.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nichols died Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cullman County on May 23, 1943.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael “Mike” Nichols; and his parents, Garland Morgan and Ethel Gertrude Grubbs Nichols.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Nichols of Berlin; two sons, Donnie Ray and Charles “Chuck” Nichols, both of Berlin; a daughter-in-law, Kellie Nichols of Berlin; six grandchildren; three brothers, Herschel Nichols of Hanceville, and Ed and Junior Nichols, both of Berlin; three sisters, Magdeline Lynn of West Point, Iris Holmes of Cullman and Jonnie Mae Chitwood of Hartwell, Ga.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Truman Lathern ‘Bud’ Stewart
Funeral services for Truman Lathern “Bud” Stewart, 73, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Roger Pierce officiating, with burial in Spring Hill Baptist Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stewart died Monday, Oct. 9 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born on March 20, 1933, in Cullman to Dee and Addie Johnson Stewart. He was a retired machinist with Americold. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Good Hope Assembly of God in Cullman. He was a well respected and dearly loved citizen of Cullman County and the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Troy Stewart, Clyde Stewart, Elzie Stewart and Melvin Stewart; and a sister, Ruth Stewart Nabors.

Carlton Eugene Stafford
Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
Susan Melissa Neck Werner
Susan Werner died Monday, July 21, 2014, as a result of an apparent fall at her home in Gainesville, Florida. Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and, after graduation from FSU, spent many years in Cullman, where she taught elementary school and received a master’s degree from UAB. While in Cullman, she married Robert Werner and helped run a family retail business.
