Brady, Burton

Cecil Richard Brady

Funeral services for Cecil Richard Brady, 85, of Bremen will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March, 18, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Tommy Graves officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brady died Sunday, March 12 at his residence. He was born on April 25, 1920, in Richwood, W.V., to Lawrence Benjamin and Evie Rohea Brady. He was a crane operator with J&L; Steel Co. He was a lifetime member of D.A.V. Chapter 76 and VFW Post 2214. He received a Purple Heart (U.S. Army) and was a member of the Purple Heart Chapter 2212.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Scott Richard and Clifford Benjamin Brady; four brothers, Ralph, James, Junior and Bill Brady; a sister, Emagene Faulks; and a grandson, Aaron Scott Stout.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Joyce Brady of Bremen; two sons, Keith Richard Brady and Steven Patrick Brady; five daughters, Doris Ann Lucas, Patricia Lynn Brady, Carol Lee Ann Davis, Linda Lee Brady and Brenda Joyce Gwinn; three sisters, Carolyn Welch, Bertha Corder and Rosalene Brady; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.



Matteline H. Burton

Funeral services for Matteline H. Burton, 81, of Jasper will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Harvest Time Worship Center, Billy Dutton and Wayne Williams officiating, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Collins-Burke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Burton died Tuesday, March 14 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Burton; a great-granddaughter, Rachel Hester; two sisters, Rachel Schafer and Evelyn Hatcher; two brothers, Bill McCracken and Lee McCracken; her father, Matt Hatcher; her mother, Allie McCracken; and her stepfather, Don McCracken.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy (Margie) Burton; a sister, Faye Aaron; three brothers, Ralph McCracken, Ray McCracken and Jack (Virginia) McCracken; special sisters and brothers-in-law, Bill Burton, Billy and Virginia Dutton, Norman and Margaret Rice, Coleman and Betty Burton, Kathleen McClendon, J.C. and Shirley Aaron and Johnnie Bee Aaron; three grandchildren, Sharon (Barry) Hester, Carol (David) Aderholt and Donald Burton; four great-grandchildren, Brad Hester, Jeff and Kayla Aderholt and Joe Burton; and a great-great-grandchild, Sadie Hester.

Visitation was Wednesday.
