Powell, Camp, Veal, Moody, Macon

<b>Annis Rae Jacobs Powell</b>

Funeral services for Annis Rae Jacobs Powell, 68, of Addison will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Jerry Lake officiating, with burial in Cullman Heritage Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Powell died Friday, March 3 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1937, in Cullman County to William David and Rilla Calvert Jacobs. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Sabrina Eileen Powell; two brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Odis Riley Powell of Sardis; a son, Odis Allen Powell of Fairview; three daughters, Carol Powell Hayes of Holly Pond, Cindy Powell Tilley of Lacon and Donna Powell Schmale of Hanceville; a brother, Paul Henry Jacobs of Gardendale; two sisters, Edna Faye Jacobs of Sardis and Sue Woodard of Jones Chapel; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

<b>Franklin Oneal 'Peanut' Camp</b>

Funeral services for Franklin Oneal "Peanut" Camp, 65, of Welti will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Revs. Randy Sellers and Mike Owens officiating, with interment in Welti Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Camp died Thursday, March 2 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Welti and worked 42 years at Cullman Products.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Oneal and Bernice Batemon Camp; and his son-in-law, David White.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Camp of Welti; a daughter, April White of Holly Pond; a son, Greg (Karen) Camp of Welti; a son, Dr. Michael (Debbie) Camp of Monroe, N.C.; and six grandchildren, Patrick, Sarah, Leah and Lindsey Camp, Rachel White and Joseph Camp.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

<b>Rev. Thomas Lester Veal</b>

Funeral services for the Rev. Thomas Lester Veal, 76, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at Moss-Service Chapel, Rob Lambert, Jack Joyner and Cliff Mitchell officiating, with burial in Oak Level Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Veal died Wednesday, March 1 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 13, 1929, to Homer T. Sr. and Ophelia Holloway Veal. He was a retired insurance investigator and minister. He pastored Baptist churches in Cullman County for over 30 years that included Oak Level, Enon, Shady Grove and Westside Eva. He served in the military service for over seven years with the National Guard and the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lester Keith Veal; a sister, Montez Murphy; and a brother, Homer Troy Veal Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Howard Veal; a son, Kelvin L. (Angie) Veal; a brother, Dwayne (Louise) Veal; and three grandchildren, Jaret Veal, Jake Veal and Katie Veal.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Berlin Baptist Church Building Fund, Highway 278 East, Cullman, AL 35055.

Pallbearers will be Roderick Duke, Bobby Bolzle, Euell Hodge, Gwen Pullium, Randall Veal and Jerry Murphy.

Visitation was Friday.

<b>Jane Rasco Moody</b>

Funeral services for Jane Rasco Moody, 72, of Cullman will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Moss-Service Chapel, Mike Waters and the Rev. Don Neal officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Moody died Thursday, March 2 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 7, 1934, to Forney A. Rasco and Velma A. Weeks Rasco. She was a lifelong resident of Cullman County.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Allen Moody; a daughter, Sherril Moody (Larry) Hill; two sons, Jeffery Keith (Laura Melson) Warnke and Paul Alan Warnke; a brother, Elwyn W. (Kathryn) Rasco; four grandchildren, Sgt. James Allen Hill, Joseph William Hill, Patrick Willis Hill and Brinlee Caitlin Warnke; a niece, Rebecca Ann Rasco; and a host of cousins, friends and her church family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

<b>Samuel J. Macon</b>

Graveside services for Samuel J. Macon, 91, of Logan, formerly of Estacada, Ore., will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at New Hope No. 1 Cemetery, Dr. Ed Hays and Willard Clark officiating.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Macon died Friday, March 3 at Woodland Village Health Care. He was born on Sept. 24, 1914, in Savannah, Ga., to Samuel B. and Caroline Rogers Macon. He worked for the Seaboard Railroad in Georgia and later as a warehouseman with the U.S. Forest Service with the Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon where he lived for 39 years. He moved to Cullman County in July 2004 to be with his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Sara Ruth Hamilton Macon; a brother, Israel Macon; and three sisters, Jackie Long Lassiter, Lillian Osborne and Helen Griffin.

Survivors include a son, Samuel J. (Linda) Macon Jr. of Metter, Ga.; a daughter, Shelba (Ruben) Williams of Logan; five grandchildren, Keith (Jeannine) Williams of Kountze, Texas, Brenda (Todd) Youngblood of Madison, Janet Macon of Charlston, S.C., Lisa (George) Stewart and Sara (Robbie) Harper of Savannah, Ga.; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, George W. (Juanita) Macon; and a sister-in-law, Lou Macon of Pooler, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideon's International; Hospice of Cullman County at 402 4th Ave. NE, Cullman, AL 35055; or New Hope No. 1 Cemetery, c/o Aubrey Hudson at 2645 County Road 998, Cullman, AL 35057.

No visitation is planned.
