Arrington, Veal, Stanley, Collins, Yeager


Jimmy Lee Arrington

Memorial services for Jimmy Lee Arrington, 58, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Javon Daniel officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Arrington died Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born on Dec. 25, 1947, in Cullman to Arlen and Ivalee Hooper Arrington. He was a lieutenant with the Cullman County Sheriff's Office and was the director of the work release program. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Sandra Needham.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Swann Arrington of Hanceville; his mother Ivalee Arrington of Baileyton; a brother, Sammy Arrington of Baileyton; a sister, Malissa Bailey of Baileyton; six nephews; and two nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.



Homer Troy Veal Jr.

Funeral services for Homer Troy Veal Jr., 79, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. David Tubbs officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Veal died Monday, Feb. 20 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 21, 1926, in Winchester, Tenn., to Homer T. and Ophelia Holloway Veal. He was a manager of Golden Rod Hatchery, having worked there for more than 40 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having survived the Okinawa Invasion, a Red Cross volunteer and a Master Gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Randall Veal of Huntsville and Dudley (Alice) Veal of Fairview; a daughter, Sandra (Gerald) Weatherly of Cullman; two brothers, Lester (Margie) Veal and Dwayne (Louise) Veal, both of Cullman; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.



Tabetha Dawn Stanley

Funeral services for Tabetha Dawn Stanley, 31, of Cullman will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at East Point Church of God, Howard Leslie, Jeff Bennett and G.J. Chandler officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, with entombment in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stanley died Tuesday, Feb. 21 at her residence. She was born on March 13, 1974, in Decatur. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, R.J. Eason.

Survivors include her husband, Cedric Stanley of Cullman; a son, Jasper Stanley of Cullman; her mother, Sherry (Garey) Shedd of Holly Pond; her father, Ronnie Eason of Holly Pond; a sister, Shanna Rollo of Cullman; her grandparents, Hansel and Edna Morgan of Cullman and Dorothy Eason of Holly Pond; and her mother- and father-in-law, Juanita and Billy Wayne Stanley of Florence.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today; and from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.



Sarah Corine Collins

Funeral services for Sarah Corine Collins, 87, of Somerville will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Ralph McCollum officiating, with burial in New Salem Cemetery.

Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Collins died Monday, Feb. 20 at Marshall Medical Center in Arab. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Florette Senior Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Audie Collins; a son, Frankie Collins; a daughter, Hilda George; a granddaughter, Pamela Jones; two brothers, Howard Lemmond and Paul Lemmond; and a sister, Lola Grady.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin Collins of Somerville and Bobby Collins of Summerville, Tenn.; four daughters, Helen McNutt of Massey, Hazel Drinkard of Cullman, Freda Blackwood and Brenda Latham, both of Eva; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation was Tuesday.



Hazel Yeager

Hazel Yeager, 69, of Cullman died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006.

Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Yeager was survived by her husband, J.D. Yeager; a son, Jackie Yeager of Cullman; a brother, Sherrell Guthrie of Birmingham; a sister, Agnes McCormick of Birmingham; two grandchildren, Kristen Yeager and Trion Yeager; one great-grandson, Traie Yeager; and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Yeager.
