CULLMAN — Mary Agnes Stansell

Funeral services for Mary Agnes Stansell, 93, of Cullman will be at noon Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Bros. Jim Abbott and Gary Waddell officiating, with interment in Bethsadia Baptist Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stansell was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Cullman to Albert and Edna Millican Day. She passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, at her residence. Agnes was an active member of Bethsadia Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed attending services and would be among the first to volunteer for activities. She taught Sunday school lessons and with the Bible school for the children during the summer. Agnes also enjoyed singing, her flowers and baking. She always kept the cookie jar filled for the grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Brown Stansell; three sisters, Thelma Fox, Velma Lewis and Essie Duncan; and two brothers, Gilbert Day and Albert Day.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan (Carl) Young; two sisters, Betty Abernathy and Willodean Goodwin; a brother, Elbert Day; five grandchildren, Karen Powell, Eric Powell, Beth Burks, Brannon Young and Jeff Young; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be form 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
