Jerry Dale Smith
Jerry Dale Smith of Arab died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at his residence after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Smith was born Oct. 17, 1943, in Marshall County, the son of Green Wesley Smith and Nellie Hays Smith. He had lived most of his life in the Joppa and Arab area. He and the former Karren Allred have been married 46 years. He was a convenience store owner and operator for many years with stores in and around Arab and Cullman. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Karren Smith of Arab; a son and daughter-in-law: Seth Allen and Gwendolyn Smith of Madison; two grandchildren: Elijah Smith and Aidan Smith; a brother and sister-in-law: Dennis Lee and Liz Smith of Joppa and a sister and brother-in-law: Donna and Byron Johnson of Locust Fork.
There will be no service as his family elected to follow his wishes and cremate; he will be remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisted the family with cremation arrangements.
