Annie Ruth ‘Rose’ Harris Kent
Annie Ruth "Rose" Harris Kent, 85, of Orange Park, Fla., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. She was born on March 16, 1928, in Liberty Hill, Ala., to John and Vertia Hatley Harris. Rose worked for Terri Pines Country Club retiring in 1994. She moved to Moosehaven retirement community in Orange Park, Fla., in 2002 where she has be a resident for the past 11 years and attended church at the Moosehaven Chapel.
Rose will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Shedd of Cullman; sons, Danny (Dawn) Kent of Speake, Ala., and Gregory (Clara) Kent of Cullman; grandchildren, Shane (Shawn) Kent, Brock Kent, Justin Kent, Heather Sellers, Christina Martin, Ashley Rose Kent, Brittney Tucker, Jesse Hagood; great-grandchildren, Jessica Kent, Brittney Kent, Katelyn Adams, Blake Kent, Carter Kent, Campbell Kent, Collin Kent, Reagan Jones, Kali Manzella, Kali Tucker, Camron Holt; great-great-grandchildren, Jacob Martin and Kendell Manzella; sisters, Lorraine Williams, Mamie Elrod, Marie “Bonkey” York, Ola Vay Majure, Barbara Burgess; brother, J.D. (Ruby) Harris; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Moosehaven Chapel, the Rev. Helen Taylor and Opportunity Chapter officiating. Entombment was in Moosehaven Mausoleum.
