Funeral services for Richard Harding Davis, 87, of Eva will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Enon Baptist Church, Bro. Perry Brown officiating, with interment in Enon Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Davis died Wednesday, May 7, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Newport News, Va., to Sydney and Virginia Veronica Davis. He was a bookkeeper for a furniture store and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was also a greeter at Wal-Mart for 15 years and a deacon and treasurer at Enon Baptist Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 62 years, Haskell Davis.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. for family; and from 6 to 8 p.m. for friends.
