James Myron ‘Snag’ Howse
Funeral services for James Myron “Snag” Howse, 66, of Decatur will be at noon Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Harold Widner officiating, with burial in Flint Creek Cemetery in Vinemont.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Howse died Sunday, April 27, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born March 27, 1942, in Cullman County and had been a resident of Decatur since 1971. He had worked for Climatrol, Amoco Chemicals, and owned and operated Austinville Shell and Lacon Grocery. Mr. Howse was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Carrie Howse; three brothers, Norman “Coach”, A.L. “Bud”, and Dovard “Dud”; a sister, Maxine Stephens; his father- and mother-in-law, Boyd and Trischel Drake; and a brother-in-law, Will Shea Drake.
Survivors include his wife, Clariece Drake Howse; two sons, Stanley (Linda) Howse and Kirk (Martha) Stricklin; five grandsons, Jackson, Lawson, Greyson, Brady and Chase; two sisters-in-law, Earline Howse and Imogene Drake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Howse’s family and friends.
Visitation was Monday.
