Funeral services for James Redford Parrish, 70, of Blountsville will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Heritage Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Roswell Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parrish died April 15, 2008 at Physicians Medical Center Carraway in Birmingham. He was born Feb. 3, 1938 in Blount County to Lonnie Jay Parrish and Ida Irene Cason Parrish.
A lifelong resident of Blount County, Mr. Parrish served within the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Mt. McKinley and was honorably discharged in 1958. Mr. Parrish is also the former owner of J. R.’s Family Restaurant and the current owner of Parrish Auto Sales, both in Holly Pond.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Sisk Parrish; a daughter, Janet Denise Parrish, a sister, Betty Jean Parrish; and his parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Annette Parrish of Blountsville and Julie Charlene (Jonathan) Harwell of Statesboro, Ga.; a brother, Ray Parrish of Blountsville; and five sisters, Lillian Wood, Maxine Parrish and Barbara Parrish, all of Blountsville; Daphine Munson of Birmingham and Dorothy (Tim) Osborne of North Ft. Myers, Fla.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
