Funeral services for Talmadge Thrasher, 80, of the Walter community will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Bros. Brian Keith Hancock and Larry Brown officiating, with interment in Center Point Cemetery.
Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thrasher died Sunday, April 6, at his residence. He was born in Marshall County to Jep W. and Flossie Davis Thrasher. He was a retired security guard and a member of Center Point Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola Hancock Thrasher; a son, Larry Thrasher; and a sister, Katie Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Shelia) Thrasher of Blountsville and Talmadge Thrasher Jr. of the Walter community; a daughter, Patricia (Wendell) Harris of the Walter community; a daughter-in-law, Judy (Jeff) Stiles; two brothers, Marvin (Carole) Thrasher and Harold “Butch” Thrasher; two sisters, Barbara (Ervin) Watson and Johnnie (Arthur) Liegeber; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony Harris, Kevin Glasscock, Chris Thrasher, Joseph Rusk, Brad Lawrence and Chris Price.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
