Burley Lee McDowell

Funeral Services for Burley Lee McDowell, 92, of Anniston were Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Gray Brown Service Mortuary Chapel, the Revs. Daniel Harper and Stan Owen officiating, with burial in Anniston Memorial Gardens.

Gray Brown-Service Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McDowell passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Golden Living. Mrs. McDowell was a native of Cullman County and a resident of Calhoun County since 1953. She was a longtime member of Saks Baptist Church and recently a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and was a longtime employee of Blue Mountain Industries.

Mrs. McDowell was preceded in death by her husband, Glin McDowell; a son, James McDowell; and a daughter, Kay Rogers.

Survivors included her son-in-law, Stan (Mickey) Rogers of Collinsville; five grandchildren, Lisa (Corey) Nathan, Andrew (Ester) McDowell, Alex McDowell, Andrea (Brad) Davis and Stuart (Lollie) Rogers; 15 great-grandchildren, Christian Woodall, Dalton Fetner, Regan Davis, Hayden Davis, Avery Rogers, Caroline Rogers, Savannah Nathan, Jackson Nathan, Emerson Nathan, Amanda McDowell, Emily McDowell, Ryan McDowell, Jimmy Bunch, Cindy Bunch and Katie Aubin; four sisters, Loxcill (Gerald) Tuck of Birmingham, Nell (Bob) Sellers of Montgomery, Lylia (Mick) Andrews of Cullman and Jane (James) Henry of Houston, Texas; four brothers, Joe (Ann) Burney of Anniston, C.J. Burney, Ossie (Ethel Lee) Burney and Leonard Burney, all of Cullman.

Pallbearers were Stan Rogers, Stuart Rogers, Corey Nathan, Brad Davis, Andrew McDowell and David McClain.

Visitation was Monday.
