U.S. Senate candidate Doug Jones is scheduled to speak in Cullman this evening at Stone Bridge Farms.

According to a campaign spokesman for Jones, the Democratic candidate will be joined by former Alabama First Lady Martha Folsom of Cullman and Alabama native Lilly Ledbetter, who has gained national attention as a leader in the fight for equal pay for equal work. The event begins at 6 p.m.

The stop in Cullman is part of the “Women’s Wednesdays” field program, an effort launched by Alabama women to help share Jones' message of bringing both sides together to focus on the kitchen-table issues that matter to hardworking families, according to information provided by the candidate's campaign staff.

The campaign’s women-to-women outreach efforts include phone banks, women sending post-cards to their personal networks, coffees with Jones' wife, Louise, who is a Cullman County native, and other initiatives. Tonight's event will mark the final "Women's Wednesday" Day of Action before the Dec.12 special election vote.
