A strong cold front is moving toward north Alabama from the Midwest.
Ahead of the front, it is mild and windy. Expect those gusty winds to persist through tonight and into tomorrow morning. Make sure your Christmas decorations outside are secured. Today looks mainly dry, mostly cloudy, breezy and mild, according to WBRC in Birmingham.
Rain and some thunder will impact areas northwest of Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Gadsden between 8 a.m. and noon on Tuesday. The main line impacts the I-59 corridor during the early afternoon hours and points southeast through about 6 p.m. The line may produce strong wind gusts to 40-50 mph otherwise severe weather is not expected. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible for brief ponding threats on the roadways, WBRC reported.
