ADDISON — ADDISON — Only one word is needed to describe Addison High’s performance against Winston County.
Dominant.
Addison held Winston County scoreless in the first quarter and carried a 43-point lead into halftime, cruising to a lopsided 76-10 win over the Yellow Jackets Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs (3-1) opened the game with a 22-0 run and didn’t let up. Addison led 65-6 after three quarters.
Alex Scott led Addison with a game-high 24 points, while Kaydi Langley and Kaitlin Parker scored 12 points each. Sadie Beam added 11 points and Kali Lake tossed in eight.
Addison travels to Cold Springs for a Class 2A, Area 13 contest Friday.
• Cold Springs 65, Falkville 28: Abby Myrex made six 3-pointers, pacing the top-ranked (2A) Eagles with a game-high 27 points in a Class 2A, Area 13 win.
Ka-Ka Crider added 10 points for Cold Springs (6-1), while Georgia Myres tossed in eight points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Kaitlyn Allums added six points and Katie Self finished with five points and eight rebounds.
Tara Goodman and Sydney Moore led Falkville (0-9) with 10 points each.
• Holly Pond 68, Vinemont 31: Haley Bagwell and Haley Terry combined for 40 points, leading the Broncos past Vinemont (2-3) at home.
Bagwell led all scorers with 21 points and Terry poured in 19. Alisha Keller added 11 for the seventh-ranked (3A) Broncos (8-3), while Kelsey Hawkins and Nora Katherine Henderson tossed in six points each.
Holly Pond opened the game with a 19-5 run and carried a 37-9 lead into halftime.
Kristina Franks led Vinemont with 12 points, while Jordan Melton scored nine and Sydney Whittle added five.
Holly Pond hosts Hanceville Friday, while Vinemont hosts J.B. Pennington.
• Fairview 72, Brindlee Mountain 50: Fairview outscored Brindlee Mountain 23-7 in the fourth quarter to grab a home win over the Lions.
Jazz Foust and Kayla Schnittker tossed in 17 points each to pace the Aggies (3-3), who led 49-43 heading into the final period. Alysha Smith had 16, Kacie Mangum finished with nine and Ashton Ryan added eight.
Fairview hosts Columbia in a Class 4A, Area 13 game on Friday.
• Cullman Christian 50, Cahaba Christian 39: Jordan Canaday scored 19 points to lead the Lions past Cahaba Christian.
Christine Aldijali scored 10 points, while Janna Waddell added nine points and 15 rebounds for Cullman Christian (5-0), which trailed 21-19 at halftime.
• Cleveland 60, St. Bernard 12: The Saints dropped a home game against Cleveland.
St. Bernard (0-5) hosts Parkway Christian for a Class 1A, Area 9 game on Thursday.
Varsity Boys
• Holly Pond 65, Vinemont 54: Holly Pond used a balanced attack to pick up a victory at Cullman County rival Vinemont.
Thomas Hays led the Broncos (2-6) with 17 points, while Jacob Walker tossed in 16. Drew Adams had 13 points and Wesley Graham added 10.
The teams were tied 9-9 after one quarter, but Holly Pond took a 22-19 lead into halftime. The Broncos held a 43-35 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
Brock Meherg scored 15 points to lead Vinemont (1-5), while Cory Meyer added 11.
Holly Pond hosts county rival Hanceville Friday, while Vinemont hosts J.B. Pennington in a Class 3A, Area 12 contest.
• Hanceville 58, West Point 41: The host Bulldogs trailed 37-30 late in the third quarter but outscored West Point 28-4 the rest of the way to grab the win.
Broc Malcom scored 14 points to pace Hanceville (5-4), which led 15-11 after the first quarter and 24-19 at halftime. Diamond Simmons tossed in 12 points and Geoffrey Hall added 10.
Zack Baswell led West Point (2-7) with 15 points, while Zach Douglas had 10.
Hanceville travels to Sumiton Christian on Thursday, while West Point hosts Fayette County in a Class 4A, Area 11 matchup.
• Cold Springs 71, Falkville 31: The visiting Eagles picked up a big win over Class 2A, Area 13 rival Falkville on the road.
Justin Aby led the Eagles with 19 points, while Chayse Elliott and Joseph Burleson scored 15 points each. Nick Blanks added nine points.
Cold Springs (8-2) hosts Addison in another Area 13 game on Friday.
• Cleveland 67, St. Bernard 43: The Saints lost to Cleveland in a non-area game at home.
St. Bernard (0-5) hosts Parkway Christian in a Class 1A, Area 9 game on Thursday.
JV Girls
• Holly Pond 46, Vinemont 19: Taylor Terry paced the Broncos with 13 points, while Natasha Holcombe scored 11 and Kendra Moore added nine.
Emily Harris led Vinemont with six points.
JV Boys
• Fairview 44, Brindlee Mountain 35: Dillon Widner scored 13 points to lead Fairview past the visiting Lions.
Dalton Sullivan finished with eight points, J.T. Boatright had six and Spencer Byrd and Michael Williams added four each for the Aggies (4-1).
