PREP ROUNDUP: Cold Springs' boys, Holly Pond girls pick up wins

Staff Reports
The Cullman Times

—  Chayse Elliott scored 20 points and the Eagles moved closer to a regular-season area crown with a 60-47 win over Lamar County on Tuesday night.

Triston Chambers pitched in 16 points for Cold Springs, while Josh Freeman scored nine and Layne Rice, seven. Terry Campbell also contributed with five, while Mason Harris added three.

The victory secures at least a tie for the Eagles’ area title. Cold Springs will now be forced to play the waiting game until Friday where the outcome of Lamar County and Oakman will determine its fate.

An Oakman win will result in a coin toss to decide who will get hosting rights for the area tourney, whereas a Lamar County victory would clinch the area for Cold Springs.

The Eagles will host Walker on Thursday.
