PREP ROUNDUP: Cold Springs’ girls, Fairview boys’ pick up area victories

OAKMAN — Caitlyn Hall scored 17 points as Cold Springs’ dismantled Oakman on Friday night, defeating the Wildcats by a final score of 67-21.

The win moved the Eagles’ record to 14-5 overall and clinched the regular season Class 2A, Area 14 title.

Other Cold Springs’ contributors included Chloe Harbison, 12 points; Emme Willoughby, eight points; Rilee White and Haley Freeman, six points apiece; Karlee Perdue, four points; McKinnley Davis and Destiny Campbell, three points each; and Keegan Johnson, Hayden West, Kaleigh Merring and Hanna Wilson, two points apiece.

The Eagles will close out their area schedule at home against Lamar County on Tuesday.

% Fairview 56, Locust Fork 33:
The Aggies moved to 14-6 overall and 3-2 in Class 4A, Area 13 play with a decisive win over the Hornets on Friday night.

Andy Hendrix led all scorers with 18 points, while teammates Blake Parker and Peter Kessler added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Elijah Garrison netted eight and Luke Bailey, seven.

The Aggies will have a quick turnaround, hosting Dora on Saturday afternoon.



% Holly Pond 81, New Hope 62: The Broncos rolled to a victory over the Indians on Friday night, clinching a regular season area title in the process.

Colby Adams was the hot hand for Holly Pond, scoring 29 points. Gunter Morris added 21 of his own, while Jacob Cahoon added 14. The win vaults the No. 10 Broncos’ record to 17-4 overall.
