CULLMAN —
With each spring comes a few guarantees — baseball, vacations and cleaning. And in these parts, the season also marks the annual induction of the Cullman County Sports Hall of Fame’s latest class.
This year’s list of candidates was recently narrowed down to 30 semifinalists by the CCSHOF board. Later this month, the group of voters will select 11 nominees to represent the 2013 class.
The number of inductees from each county school will be broken down as follows: Cullman/St. Bernard, three; Hanceville, two; and Cold Springs, Fairview, Good Hope, Holly Pond, Vinemont and West Point, one each.
Cullman and Hanceville are designated multiple honorees because its athletic programs have been established longer than the other six schools in the county.
The CCSHOF’s 14th class will officially be inducted at a ceremony on Saturday, April 17 at the Cullman Civic Center. Tickets, which will cost $20 and include dinner, will go on sale on March 15.
