Auburn fans attending Saturday’s homecoming game against Western Carolina will be allowed access to the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium once it has been cleared.
“There are countless Auburn fans young and old that would like to have the opportunity to walk the field that Auburn players and coaches past and present have played on,” director of athletics Jay Jacobs said. “We felt that this was a great time to do this. We’re very appreciative of the Southeastern Conference and commissioner Slive for granting us a waiver and allowing this to happen for our fans.”
Once the field has been cleared of all players and coaches approximately 15 minutes after the game, fans will be granted the opportunity to come to field level, where they’ll be able to remain for 45 minutes. Interested parties are asked to heed the direction of the stadium announcer and security personnel.
Fans will be allowed access to the field through field gates at Sections 1, 11, 15, 20, 24 and 34. Fans are also asked to refrain from entering the field over the brick walls in each end zone.
Saturday’s game, which will be available on pay-per-view, will kick off at 1 p.m.
