PREP ROUNDUP: Cold Springs earns AHSAA Prep Spotlight after Week 1 shutout

CULLMAN — Cold Springs’ defense and running back Logan Campbell no doubt had big games in the Eagles’ 34-0 victory over Decatur Heritage last Friday night.

So big in fact that Cold Springs grabbed the Alabama High School Athletic Association Prep Spotlight for Week 1 of the 2013 football season.

The Blue and White defense pitched its first shutout since the 2004 season, while Campbell, who had just seven carries, led the way on offense with a 214-yard, three-touchdown performance on the ground.

Cold Spring will try to keep the good times rolling this Friday on the road against region-rival Sulligent.
