The Cullman County Sports Hall of Fame’s 14th class was officially installed this past Saturday evening during a ceremony at the Cullman Civic Center.
The following 11 inductees took the stage as this year’s honorees: Huelee Adams, Vinemont; Bo Bolzle, Fairview; Edward Campbell, Cold Springs; Donald Drummond, West Point; Phil Freeman, Cullman; Ginger Holt, Cullman; Nancy Horton, Hanceville; Bob Kurtz, Cullman; Roger Pierce, Good Hope; Randy Putman, Hanceville; and Jerry Weathersby, Holly Pond.
Past athletes weren’t the only ones honored for their accomplishments, however, as 10 current Cullman County high school seniors were awarded scholarships in recognition of their hard work on their respective field of play and in the classroom.
Those student-athletes were Hayden West, Cold Springs; Houston Turner, Cullman; Sadie Gregory, Fairview; Darcie Wilson, Good Hope; Katie Tankersley, Hanceville; Tarrant White, Holly Pond; Katlyn Whitehead, Holly Pond; Terrica Crawford, St. Bernard; Ty Jones, Vinemont; and Josh Looney, West Point.
