PREP VOLLEYBALL: No. 6 Cold Springs downs Oakman to win 4th straight area tourney title

COLD SPRINGS — The Cold Springs volleyball team has won its fourth straight area tournament championship.

The Eagles defeated Sulligent to open the evening and later breezed by Oakman in three sets (25-14, 25-13, 25-15) to lift the Class 2A, Area 11 Tournament trophy in front of their home crowd.

Sixth-ranked Cold Springs was led in the championship match by Karlee Perdue (nine aces, 20 assists and five kills) and Brittany Hopkins (11 kills and nine pass assists). Christian Wilson did a little bit of everything with eight kills, two pass assists, one block and one tip.

Next up for the Eagles is the North Super Regional, where they'll take on Cherokee, the Area 16 Tournament runner-up, at 6:45 p.m. on Friday at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.
