ASWA RANKINGS: Cullman, Vinemont baseball and Good Hope softball squads debut in top 10

CULLMAN — Two baseball teams and one softball squad from The Times’ coverage area were included in the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s first top-10 rankings of the season, which were released late Wednesday night.

Cullman (4-6) enters at No. 3 in Class 5A baseball, while Vinemont (6-1) is 10th in 3A.

Good Hope’s softball team, off to an explosive 5-1 start, debuted at No. 7 in 3A. Holly Pond, 1-1 after a late beginning to the season, was among five teams nominated in 3A.
