BIRMINGHAM — West Point's baseball team brought a bit of offensive firepower to a sleety, snowy field in Birmingham, going berserk for 32 runs in a pair of mercy-rule victories over Parker on Saturday.

The Warriors began the day with a 14-4 win and ended it with an 18-2 rout to improve to 4-1 on the early season.

Dalton Looney was superb in a five-inning, complete-game outing on the mound in the opening game. He struck out eight and allowed three earned runs, four hits and four walks.

Will Wrenn was a perfect 2 for 2 with three runs, while Tate Duckett was 2 for 3 with a couple of runs. Wesley Smith chipped in one hit and three RBIs; Ryder Jones, one hit, three runs and two RBIs; Jordan McKenzie, one hit and three runs; Cameron Brock, one hit, two RBIs; Looney, one hit, one run and one RBI; and Wesley Waters, two runs.

Jones was the winning pitcher in Game 2, striking out seven in three innings of one-hit ball. Both runs he allowed were unearned. Wrenn came through with a strikeout in one inning relief, and McKenzie K'd two in the fifth.

Wrenn capped off an outstanding day at the plate with a 3-for-4, three-RBI outburst, while Jones was a flawless 2 for 2 with four runs. Waters contributed two hits and three runs; Smith, one hit, two runs and one RBI; McKenzie, one hit and three runs; Duckett, three stolen bases and one run; Farley, one hit, one RBI and one run; Looney, one hit and one RBI; and Adam Stewart and Brock, one hit apiece.
