WALLACE STATE BASEBALL: Lions down Volunteer State 6-1

HANCEVILLE — Wallace State ace Bret Marks struck out four batters and hurled 5 1/3 innings of four-hit ball to propel the Lions to 2-1 with a 6-1 home win over Volunteer State (Tenn.) on Friday.

Andrew Dennis and Wayne Carrel were both 2 for 4 at the plate for Wallace State, while Dennis also chipped in two RBIs.

The teams will meet again today at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader.
