PREP SOCCER: Cullman's boys win 1st section match, girls shut out Hillcrest

MUSCLE SHOALS — Cullman's varsity and junior varsity boys soccer teams are 1 for 1 in section play after topping host Muscle Shoals in their respective games on Monday.

The Bearcats' varsity squad rode goals by Jesse Burroughs, Chris Grey and Cody McCluskey to a 3-2 victory, while Ben Walker's hat trick, as well as goals from Bryant Thompson and Kevin Dejesus led the JV team to a 5-1 victory.

The Black and Gold's varsity girls were also in action on Monday, shutting out Hillcrest 4-0 at home. Sarah Hill was responsible for two goals, while Brookelyn Cook and Savannah Rakestraw accounted for one apiece.

Cullman Middle School's boys defeated Cedar Ridge 3-0. Its girls lost 2-0.
