Cold Springs improved to 17-6 on the season, easily dispatching of its county foe, Vinemont, on Friday night by a final score of 67-42.
Chloe Harbison shone for Cold Springs, collecting 20 points, nine steals and five rebounds, while her teammate Caitlyn Hall added 10 points, nine rebounds and five steals.
Haley Freeman and Karlee Perdue also scored nine points each. Keegan Johnson collected eight, while Emme Willoughby finished with six. Hayden West contributed two. McKinnley Davis rounded out the scoring with a free throw.
Vinemont hit 10 3-pointers on the night, but it was enough to overcome the No 6. Eagles.
Both Syndey Wallace and Jordan Melton scored 13 for the visiting Eagles, while Savannah McAlpine added nine. Katie Fuller dropped in four and Casey Westmoreland, three.
% Good Hope 43, Danville 39: The Raiders made the most of their Senior Night on Thursday, edging Priceville by four points to pick up their fourth win of the season.
“We settled down late and once we took the lead, we never really let it go,” coach Mike Jones said. “I’m proud of them. We are playing better and it gives us a good win heading into the area tournament.”
Andrew Cofer led the Raiders with 12 points, while Alex Cofer poured in 10 to go along with eight rebounds. Tyler Stringer also scored 10.
Eli Marty contributed seven points and six rebounds, and Zack Sloan and Josh Grisby each netted two.
Good Hope will look to keep its season alive as it takes on host and top-seeded Danville in the Class 3A, Area 13 area tournament. The game will start at 6 p.m. on Friday
Good Hope has played the Hawks close this season, losing both contests by a combined five points.
% Cold Springs 80, Vinemont 52: The trio of Triston Chambers (26), Chayse Elliott (21) and Layne Rice (17) outscored Vinemont’s entire team on Friday night, handing the home team their 15th win of the season.
Elliott also tallied five assists and four steals in the win.
Cold Springs will welcome West Point next Monday, while Vinemont will head to Fairview.
