PREP BASKETBALL: Broncos lose two of three at WQSB tourney

ALBERTVILLE — ALBERTVILLE — No. 10 Ashville snapped No. 6 Holly Pond’s 10-game winning streak with a 63-55 victory on Thursday at the WQSB Christmas Classic in Albertville.

“We played flat and had no rhythm on offense,” Bronco (12-3) coach Mitch Morris said.

Gunter Morris had Holly Pond’s high mark with 17 points. Jacob Cahoon scored 12 points, and Colby Adams had 10.

‰  Holly Pond 95, Section 70: The Broncos rebounded with a 25-point victory. Adams set the pace with 20 points, while teammates Austin Smith, Morris and Cody Jones added 16, 14 and 12 points respectively.

‰ Arab 57, Holly Pond 43: The Broncos fell to 13-4 overall, concluding its tournament with a loss to the Knights. Morris led the Broncos with 12 points, while Jones added eight. The Broncos will resume play Jan. 4 at West Point.
