ORANGE BEACH —
The TPSA 12-and-under Major baseball team, based in Cullman, recently won the USSSA World Series championship in Orange Beach with a spotless 5-0 record in tournament play.
TPSA outscored its opponents 31-12 during the four-day holiday event, which featured 22 teams from 11 states, and continued to dominate the competition by taking home its seventh championship of the year.
The squad ended the season with a 45-15 record after defeating Team 918 from Glenpool, Okla., which entered the contest 43-8, by a final score of 6-3.
TPSA’s latest championship propelled the team to the No. 1 ranking for Alabama for the 2012 season and No. 8 for the southeastern U.S.
The players for TPSA are from all across Alabama. The team is coached by Brent Bowen and Eddie Beck.
